Getting paid

Royalties & rights

This site collects the money from everything sold here. Money from radio spins, club plays, streaming services and overseas airplay is collected by organizations built for it — a website cannot legally collect those. Here is the honest map of every stream and who has to sign up for it.

Direct sales on this site

Ready

Collected by: This website

Every song, EP, album and poster bought here pays out straight to SpTommyy's bank account, minus card fees.

Streaming services

Needs signup

Collected by: A distributor (DistroKid, TuneCore, UnitedMasters…)

A distributor places the music on Spotify, Apple Music and the rest, then forwards the per-stream money.

Radio, clubs, live venues, TV

Needs signup

Collected by: A performing-rights organization (ASCAP or BMI)

Whenever a song is played in public, the venue's license fee is collected by the PRO and paid to the songwriter. Registering every song title is what triggers payment.

Overseas plays

Needs signup

Collected by: The PRO's international partners

Once registered with a US PRO, its partner societies abroad collect foreign radio and club money and send it home.

Publishing / sync (film, TV, ads)

Optional

Collected by: A publishing admin (Songtrust, Kobalt…)

Chases the publisher's share of royalties that a PRO alone does not collect, and licenses songs for placements.
